Not to mention the extra 1.21 gigawatt power supply you'd need. Might be enough to power SLI Ultras.

Interesting... I always thought Matrox video cards were preferred for medical imaging.

Geez, there's nothing nVidia 6800 series can't do!

This forum is run and read by mature adults who enjoy their nVidia video cards. The messageboard flamebois and teenagers are found at www.rage3d.com, the "flagship" station for ATi video card users.

I would like a pic with room lighting with the computer off to see the innards more clearly. Not doubting a thing you're saying, but just for cosmetic sakes.

Do you think they would take that as a trade-in towards a Mazda RX8 with all leather interior? I think they might, and maybe a hot blonde in the passenger seat to go with it

Ok ok, seriously that is the sickest, most impressive, most incredible damn PC I have ever seen or heard of in my life thus far. It makes my Athlon64 Clawhammer look like an squashed ant on the pavement. Bravo for building one hell of an amazing rig! I gotta see the benches on this thing!!!

A lot of video and graphic artists would go nuts over a system like that!

Value IMO is dependent on the person. I have had alot of people tell me "My" computer is a waste of money. /shrug I am quite happy with both my computers though.

Well, I was asked for a pic or 2 with the room lights on.

The flash kinda ruines it, but here you go.

Side shots

Did my first set of benchies , not as conclusive as I would hope, mixed results.

Doom 3, 1600x1200, 4xanti Ultra settings, timedemo demo1 usecache was 83.2 fps - not a huge improvement, originally it was 67 fps on a single 6800ultra agp dual opt.

painkiller 1.61 BOH, original agp 6800 ultra with 1600x1200, anistrophic, 6x al (is there such a thing,- it was in the game menu) all settings on high or ultra with all shadows. Benchmark c5L1 (city on water) was 69fps.

On dual sli, (same settings) it was 154fps. A more substantial increase fromthe 69fps.

Things I noticed: in the menus of Painkiller I could actually see the quaver where the screen was split, in the game this was invisible, but I could see it in the brown menu screen.

2 - Doom did not yield much of an improvement compared to Painkiller. In fact, if it wasn't for the benchmark, I would tell you it did not feel much faster.

I overclocked the cards to 455/1.18 and doom increased by 8 fps, and Painkiller by 17fps on the same benchmarks.

card temps on the 70.8 (64) drivers were around 59idle/74busy, on the 72 series driver (64) the temps were 49 idle/63 busy. The frame rates on the 72 drivers were only 1-2 fps in difference. But the temperature differences is what caught my eye.

Once again this was in Windows 2003 Enterprise server 64 bit always at 1600x1200

Enjoy the overly bright pics.

Jay
