Seems ok in 3D Mark 05, but kinda low in others. This is what I get on my GFFX 5900 flashed to 5950 @ 515 core, 985 memory:
3DMark 01', 03', 05' @ 1024x768 32 bit: 01: 15,550 03: 6,150 05: 1,300 I have the same basic computer you do except for the video card. I thought that the 6600GTs scored around 8000 in 3D Mark 03. Maybe try overclocking your video card. I read that the 6600GTs should overclock nicely. You do have great overclock on your CPU ![]() |

WOOT! Thats AWESOME weric
I want to upgrade to a 6600GT myself, possibly the MSI one when it comes out. How do you like the card overall? What games do you play? If those scores are without overclocking the card, thats one helluva nice card ![]() |

Hmm....I got only 3279 3DMarks in 3dmark05 with my computer (see sig.) Then again I haven't overclocked my video card.
EDIT: Ok I added the coolbits registry entries into a stock (unmodified) nvidia 66.93 driver, and did the "Detect Optimal Frequencies" option, and it clocked the card to 579mhz core, 1.16ghz memory. After running 3dmark05 in this configuration, I got 3715 3DMarks. ![]() It's also worthy of noting that even without overclocking, doom 3 runs *perfectly* in ultra high quality mode with the configuration I have mentioned in my signature. FWIW I noticed a huge performance increase when I returned my single corsair 512MB PC5400 DDR2 dimm (which cost $150) and replaced it with two generic 512MB PC4200 DDR2 dimms (which cost $99 each.) It's probably the dual channel memory configuration that gives it such a speed increase. Having a name brand probably doesn't change much.

BTW, where are you guys finding the nvidia 70.41 drivers at? I can only find the 66.xx series on nvidias website, even in their beta link.
EDIT: BTW, 3dmark03 gives me 9055 3dmarks.

The 6600GT is a awesome card!AlphaWolf, you can get the 70.41's, and just about every other Nvidia driver at this website: http://www.guru3d.com/ Look under downloads section, Graphics Card Drivers-Nvidia Forceware. Over 9000 in 3D Mark 03 is amazing score. Congrats ![]() |
