Question NOLF 2 impressions

After reading some very positive reviews in Maximum PC and PC Gamer I'm thinking of giving NOLF 2 a spin. It's on sale for $27 at Newegg, but before I leap I'd like to know what you all think about the game. How's the story? How's the action? Is it really as amusing as places are portraying it?

Too much find the key/file/paper/password type gameplay. It's fun, but it drags at times. It isn't nearly as good as the childish Maximum PC review made it out to be.

I thought it was well worth the price of admission One of the main reasons is that it is very funny, from start to finish. As nin_fragile14 said, there is alot of find this, then this type stuff, but to me that isnt so bad, as you are a spy and thats your job Games graphics were nice and the only problem I found, is that them game seems to suffer from a memory leak or something, after you play for a bit, it can get choopy and load times get longer, even if its a quicksave. It would be a good idea to go look at some fan sites, and read thier forums to get some more feedback.

I was thinking about that before I read what you said, nin. Claiming it's the best FPS game ever is mighty strong. I played the demo a bit and didn't think it was anything too spectacular. Definitely not as good as Half-Life (the best FPS ever I don't care what anyone says).

But based on the responses here, methinks I'll save my money on this one.

Yeah, I agree with that, Half-Life still is, sadly, the best FPS ever made. That or Metroid Prime.

Maybe so but the HL mod community is still the strongest, because Valve actually supports it even after 4 years of existence. And there is no slowing down. If you look on gamespy, there are 100,000+ players in HL and no more than maybe 8 or 9k in any other game.

Not to mention the single player game was very innovative and unique. These things no only make it the best FPS of all time in my opinion, but the best PC game of all time as well. Long live HL!

I thought NOLF 2 was the best game I'd ever played. We need more games that don't take themself way too seriously.

The early Japan levels don't strike me as spectacular, but eh. Too weak weapons for me <G>

I'm strictly talking about the single player experience, which is all NOLF 2 is really. Deathmatch MP support should be coming soon hopefully.

I agree that MP Half-Life blows (Counterstrike not withstanding) in comparison to UT, but on any other scale you can't compare them.

Deathmatch is in NOLF 2 right now. (1.2 was released at the same time as a DM map pack)

I'm stickin with SP, and maybe I'll get in some co-op with bro soon.
