Default MotherBoard Suggestions?

Im looking to get a new motherboard 200$ and under..

What would be the best motherboard or chipset? Nforce, KT, SiS etc.??

This rig will mostly be used for gaming..

Whats going into the sytem as of right now..I plan on upgrading piece by piece..starting with the motherboard..

Athlon XP 1600
GFti4600
2 Sticks of Crucial 256 DDR (512)
Sound Blaster Live

If anybody has a great experience with a motherboard make and model please post away...

Thx!

Personally, I like the sounds of the new Abit NF7-S. Overall though, you can't go wrong with any of the new nForce2 mobos...Every review has raved about the performance/stability of the motherboard and it is easily the fastest ( and most future-proof by supporting 400FSB Bartons ) motherboard money can buy right now...

With 2 sticks, you can even take advantage of the dual-channel feature!

If you opt for the Asus ( great board ), be sure to realize that there are two models....

The standard A7N8X comes with Realtek onboard audio

The A7N8X Deluxe uses the killer SoundStorm Dolby-Digital 6-channel audio and also has Serial-ATA connectors

Standard

vs.

Deluxe

In my opinion, the deluxe is more than worth the extra money...

Beats buying a PCI bandwidth sucking Creative Audigy2 and a PCI latency crapped Via.

most people probably don't even use PCI slots except for modems, network cards, or sound cards.

I've just built a system for a guy at work based on the A7N8X Deluxe, and it's a fantastic board. The integrated sound is superb, and those NForce 2 drivers just rock - what joy it is to load the whole damn lot, inc sound, in one go! The board also talks to inform you of POST issues, if that rings your bell

Man I really want to get another board but I think i'm just going to wait for the KT400a next month. I would go with the ASUS NF2 but I'll have to format and go all through that. I wish we could get away without doing it but understandablely it's a totally different chipset.
