Exclamation Can't get 1280x1024 display mode to work.

I have a Geforce FX 5500, Redhat 9 and a LanParty UT nF3 motherboard. I also have a flatscreen 17'' kogi monitor. I was able to install the video card linux driver, and I configured my XF86Config file to use the ndvidia driver and changed some of the 'Load' lines in the 'module' section. However, I can't set my resolution to anything above 800x600.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the higher resolutions modes to work? Is there any easier way than building my own modeline? Is this a video driver or monitor issue?

My Xwindows log had the following line...'(WW) nividia(0): Failure reading EDID Parameters for display device CRT-0'.

Default Re: Can't get 1280x1024 display mode to work.

There seems to be a bunch of us having problems with getting our newer NVidia cards to work at XGA and XUGA resolutions. I did just see someone having these problems tried a utility called "gtf" to generate the modlines but that too didn't work. It's a start though.

Like others, I went from a working GeForce2 MX card( 1280x1024 ) to a GeForce FX5200( 1152x864 ) and I only got that resolution after grabbing the modline from a GameKnoppix boot and passing some "Option xxx CRT-0" in the device section of the X config file.
