I have ha MX1000 and I have compared it to my brother's MX700 and the MX1000 is lightyears faster in respons and precision. The MX700 have a slight lagg. Kinda feels like the pointer is stuck at the end of a rubber-rod... If you wan't a cordless mouse go for the MX1000, there's no substitute . Only negetive thing is the weight.

I had the MX700 and the only place I noticed lag was when you let the mouse sit for a few minutes and then came back and moved it. Continuous or near continuous movement was fluid but I think it has some sort of battery save mode built in where it sort of goes to sleep if you don't touch it for a bit.

I also bought an MX1000 for my parents for Christmas... and I must say, this is the most responsive, comfortable... just the best mouse I have ever used. Blows away my MX510. but I can't say I'm ready for wireless yet... gonna check out the MX518 in April.

I love my mx1000, it is wireless but has a rapid recharge station. The charge lasts about 2 weeks with a fair amount of usage and it only takes about 2 hours to charge. It is also the most response mouse i have ever used. Takes some getting used to but it's great.

Wow, 2 weeks?!?! That's pretty sweet. I've never had my MX700 die on me but then again whenever I leave my computer for a while, I put it in it's charger. And I love the weight of it.
