If you want a cordless mouse then the mx700 is hard to beat the best mouse I have ever used,That was untill I got my Logitech MX1000 this mouse rules ,the sensitivity of it is so much better then the Mx700,IMO the MX1000 is just as good as any corded mouse. The only complaint that I ever had with my mx700 was the battery life and logitech took care of that ,the battery on the mx1000 last over a week without a charge, and I like how they have change the shape of it fits my hand perfect and I like how the new buttons are arrange on it ,plus it has 8 programable buttons like the mx700 did, there is a software mod where you can have 10 programable buttons, you are able to program the wheel side to side buttons. But if you want a corded mouse then the Logitech Mx 518 is something to look at.

Thanks for all of your responses, I really appreciate it!
I just purchased a MX-510 from CompUsa, they had an on-line special.
If all works out with it, I may consider the MX-518 (and even the MX-1000) down the road.

i have a razer diamondback razer. its a great mouse. i got it because im lefty and the MX510 is right handed ( ) but everyone tells me how great the MX510 is.

ive found that as long as you get a responsive mouse thats comfortable for you, its great. but what really helps is the mouse pad. i also picked up a Razer eXact Mat and i gotta say ... wow. its awesome. the pad has two sides, one for speed (smooth) and one for control (rougher surface).

also, havent seen any buildup on the teflon pads of my diamondback. great performance.

so, if youre lookin for a mouse, get one thats responsive (not hard to find today) and make sure its COMFORTABLE. doesnt matter if you have 1,000,000 DPI if your hand goes numb or something while youre playing, heh.
