ya considring the 6800 Ultra was pushing 6xx million vertices and the the 7800 pushes 8xx million. I dunno if the VSU were tweaked or not?

Specs looks reasonable to me though i expected double performance of the 6800U .. anyway with SLI that should be no concern for high-end gamers.
now lets see whats the R520 has under its sleeves .. err chip.

Looks tweaked to me. But it doesnt have enough to beat 6800U/6800GT SLI in AFR mode. Thats all.

Josh has some interetsing commentary at http://www.penstarsys.com/ with regards to the leaked 7800 GTX details.

I think though, the GTX is 8 VS U GPU and not a 10 as he suggest

and I am with him on the Ultra speculations... I think the ultras will hit 500mhz maybe more..just they haven't found matching memory for it in supply? ie lower than 1.6ns??

well the vertex number is high enough to have some doubts , but yeah 10 still sounds more than one would expect.

Maybe these "weak" leaked 7x00 specs are just a front to scare ATi into further delaying their delayed R520.

Specs seem nice to me, especially if it's pushing near ps3 quality....so much for pc gaming dying and all heh.

I'm hoping at least the vanilla flavour will be agp. Not the ultra or gtx, but the vanilla. I doubt the two higher end cards will be agp, their pushing for pci-e in the high-end market now, I think we'll get a vanilla agp and then a mid-range 7600 agp some time down the line.

Now I need to find some games worth the purchase. All the graphic intensive fun playing stuff seems months, if not years away. ( Prey - 06, Elder scrolls - late 05/early, ut2007 - late 06. ) I'm not about to reconstruct my socket 754 system to play f.e.a.r =P. I think Battlefield 2, Quake 4 and Call of duty 2 will run fine on what I have now, and that seems to be all i'm getting this year.

Don't get me wrong, i'm all for a new card, but for the first time since jumping into this hobby in the g3 days, i'm not buying the hardware ahead of the software. I see tons of 9800 pro users still going strong at great resolutions I wanna see how far I can push this card before I have to let go of some aa/af, then i'll move ahead. Especially since I have to buy a new cpu/mobo for pci-e. Now if one of these comes in agp, well then all ranting is off, my arse will be in the store day one. =)

Yo, I want to ask a question here:

Is this monstrous thing alot powerful than the RSX or the ATI one in the next gen consoles?

So guys .. any 3DMark2005 score predictions yet ?
well i'm speculating a score around 8400-8500 if we consider the architecture to be same as the GeForce 6 series without any improvments. in that case the 7800GTX will be ~60% faster than a single 6800U & since 1 6800U get ~5200 in 3DMark2005 , then a 7800GTX should get ~8400.

They aren't really weak.
