Default Some good headphones?

I'm looking to buy some good over-the-ear headphones. Here's a couple I found listed at a local store. What do yall think.

Sennheiser HD280 Professional DJ Headphones - HD280 $168
Sennheiser HD570 Symphony High Definition Headphones - HD570 $165
Pioneer HDJ1000 Professional DJ Headphones - HDJ1000 $236
Sony MDR7506 Professional Stereo Headphones - MDR7506 $200
Sony MDRV700DJ Professional DJ Stereo Headphones - MDRV700DJ $220
Technics RPDJ1200 Professional DJ Headphones - RPDJ1200 $180

They're all in canadian dollars and they have some other ones that I didn't bother posting, some AKG ones, anyone heard of them?

Anyway, I'm gonna go to that store in like 15 mins to get some impressions from these headphones. I'd like some opinions here.

Buying some online are really a no-no in this case and don't bother posting links to like Newegg cause they wouldn't ship to Canada anyway.

Are you looking for open or closed over the ear headphones? (i.e. Sennheiser HD570 is open style/ HD280 is closed style)

I tried the sennheiser hd570's and wasn't impressed at all by them considering the price.

The other ones I tried were the technics and the pioneer. Was impressed by both of those, esp. the technics.

I'll be going to the store again on saturday and try out again the technics, pioneer, the $220 sony's and the sennheiser hd280's. I'll probably end up buying the technics headphones b/c I thought they were real good. For the most part, I've realized I only want the closed dj headphones type.

ended up going the cheap route. got the sennheiser hd497. sounded as good as the 280's to me anyway. i didnt see a point in shelling out more dough for something that sounded almost the same. so far im extremely happy with the purchase and they arent as bulky as the 280's

I bought the Technics RPDJ1200's today. I didn't like the strength and quality build of the Sennheiser HD280's, and I thought the Sony MDR700's and Pioneer 1000's didn't have anything over the Technics and since the Technics were cheaper than both of those, I went with that.

Supposedly Koss are very good for price - performance ratio - i.e., you get good headphones with Sennheisers, but you pay much more for them than you would with an equiv set of Koss phones. Dunno if your store stocks Koss, but their site (www.koss.com) has a pretty extensive list of their products. Again - you didn't mention them, but I'm assuming they might be one of the brands you hadn't heard of. Anyhow, just thought I'd throw that out there - from the ones you listed, I'd go for one of the Sennheisers, but I've not really tried any of those, so I can't say for sure.

EDIT: I see you've already bought, but in the future, if you have a chance, check out Koss.

Ridiculous DOES not have an 'e' in it. It comes from "ridicule" and has less than nothing to do with the colour red.

Question Re: Some good headphones?

Well i never used Speakers for PC gameing only headphones so i would not know how subwoofer sounds , but if its anything like BASS , these 280 don't have anything overdone , you get whats playeing , my previous Sentry 880CD had high bass and would not reproduce so much detail as these , i can only imagine what other $300+ range HeadPhones can do
