Unhappy 7167 and GeForce Ti4600 Xig freeze

Hi,

I've dug deep, and found lots of hints here, but still get freezes during ut2004 or AA. 'top' shows X eating CPU. I've tried everything... gentoo forums and here and it seems to be slightly different to everyone.

dmesg:
Code:
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:01:00.0[A] -> GSI 12 (level, low) -> IRQ 12
NVRM: loading NVIDIA Linux x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-6629 Wed Nov 3 13:12:51 PST 2004
NVRM: client does not support versioning!!
NVRM:    aborting to avoid catastrophe!

Linux g1 2.6.11-ck3 #2 SMP Tue Mar 29 15:28:24 BST 2005 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

xorg-x11 version 6.8.2-r1

all the 'fancy' xorg.conf options like renderaccel etc are off..
i'm using the nvidia kernel interface, i've turned off the fastwrites etc...

not sure on the meaning of Xid?? some posts indicate clock speed (default)??

any ideas?

(thanks in advance)

the only comment from nvidia we have about "what are xids".

Anyway... can you please run "nvidia-bug-report.sh" and attach the created log here?
