Default AntiAliasing + NV40 + Cedega + Source Games = ARGH!

The topic says it all. You get this unbearable flicker if AA is enabled.

The Cedega guys blame Nvidia, the Nvidia guys blame Cedega, now really, who is the blame?
And why isnt anyone trying or even bothering to fix this? Or even investigate it? The Cedega developers have been ignoring this topic on their forums too.

http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1488

Seriously, HL2 sucks without AA. Plenty of thin powerlines and stuff that really would look much better with it.

I don't know if the ATI guys get the same issue or not however, and I don't know if this is limited to NV40 based cards, and heck, I don't know if this is even limited to Source based games, since thats all I use Cedega for. All I know is I wish someone would fix it.

Vice city is perfect with AA on but Morrowind is like you say, I'd say it's a cedega problem since native games are fine. I suppose they will blame the crappy pixel shader issues on nvidia as well?

Yeah I think its a Cedega problem too. I have no problems with native games either, AA looks just as good as ever.

"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" worked for me aswell. i tend to use max AA/AF + texture sharpening along with 70Hz Vsync in most games that don't produce "mouse lag" (which i feel is unacceptable...)

but in the title "Battlefield: 1942" AA/AF cause severe anomalies in the picture...like a fan at very low RPM over the screen...

these problems could be something so big that it deals with the inherent function of Cedega and if they were to admit the fault was on their end.. it perhaps would result in a major overhaul of their code... i wouldn't be at all surprised if Cedega did some naughty things to gain performance...infact i don't think Cedega's team ever focuses on correctness or quality of the output...just speed it would seem...(i'm thinking naughty as in something to do with the frames and interpolation...sorry for my uneducated/vague terminology)

also i don't think the problem is limited to NV40

You're right, its every other frame that it appears proper and broken in a steady flicker.
