Default Re: nForce4 SATA NCQ support?

AHCI supports NCQ. 'Newer NVIDIA chipsets are AHCI'. Which Nvidia chipsets are 'newer'?

In the kernel ahci.c driver source it's indicate MCP65 for the nvidia part.

If you know what's corresponding to this reference you've your answer

In the kernel ml a ADMA patch is floating around, which enables NCQ for sata_nv and nforce4. I also posted about it here in the forum.

Nvidia also promised to release a patch for MCP55 and the like "shortly", but so far - one month ad more later - I don't see it.

Default Re: nForce4 SATA NCQ support?

yes. this post is very very old.... but need answers of my "problem"

i have a Asus A8V SLI premium with a Nforce4 chipset (CK804) and integrated sata controller SiliconImage 3114, and 3hdds Sata2 with hotswap enclosure box

i need info for hotplug/swap. is possible with this motherboard?

only need unmount a filesystem and extract the device? or need more intermediate steps...

i probe the system... unmonting the filesistem, run command "eject" and extract hdd using enclosure

the dmesg say:
