Why Windows Xp wan't allow me to run games designed for Win 95/98, such as "Dracula game 1,2" ?I tried to use compatibility mode, but nothing.

Microsoft can't make a 32bit OS that has perfect compatibility with older software. it's pretty surprising how high compatibility even is, though.

yet another reason to keep a copy of some win9x OS on your hd, if you have problems with older games.

Shogo crashes to desktop with memory errors, so does GP500 right on exit. Other than that, I am surprised how many game DO work perfectly. A lot more than Win2k. An about the same framerates as Win98SE.

Weird - Shogo looks and runs great under XP for me. All I have to do is make sure vsync is disabled to get the video to look right and set my maximum frame rate to 85 so my audio doesn't fall out of sync. But I don't get any errors at all.

For DOS games I've noticed most of them which use "32-bit memory extenders", such as, DOS4GW, Pharlap, etc will likely crash under WinXP. Oddly enough, even oldest dos games (CGA, EGA ones) run quite fine. One can always boot into real dos with a floppy, though.
I've also noticed that modern videocards aren't the best suitable for older video modes. My GF2 MX400 has crappy dos compatibility and will crash WinXP when using Fullscreen TEXT MODES.
