I'm hoping for a friday evening release so I'll have all weekend to play D3 with offset mapping enabled. He has to be getting close with all the great looking screenshots we've been seeing.

Control panel: High quality (no optimizations) + AA 4x / APP AF
Doom 3: 1280x1024 + High quality + all maxed + AF 8x

3mood: Precision hint fastest, short temps, FP16 alu operations and NRM

tertsi I would be very interested in trying your mod as I am an avid Doom/ROE enthisiast.
However on every attempt it simply does not run. The exe runs in the background for 1 -2 seconds and then dies off. I also noticed in this thread that this issue was reported several times. Do you have a solution for this.

I'd like to second the above post. Whatever method you're using to detect the graphics card and the options to enable within the program, could you please add support for the FX4000/4400. At present 3mood.exe quits out instantly because it's not seeing a 5xxx/6xxx series card i'd assume.

I really want to try this mod, i've just got ROE and i'd like to play it through using 3mood.

judging from the screenshots i've seen, really nice work tertsi.

Actually, I just forget to add Quadro based NV3x and N4x cards to 3mood's (1.1.3b release) detect function. Sorry about that...

3mood 1.2.1b release is coming soon ....

Addons
* Quadro based NV4x and NV3x cards
* Perform a Dependent Table Modulate option for the specular control (this remove "plastic" from skins and scenes, "WoooW" - awesome add)
* Modulate scale option for a Dependent Table Modulate (this control how much a Dependent Table is modulate with specular)
* New performance option Normalization cube map (instead of using math, normalize with the normalization cube map)
* Offset mapping (Only normal map (High) mode enabled, this option gives more depth to bumpmaps but it's still a fake. Height map (Ultra) version coming later when we have finished texture sets for that.)
* menuselect for config's

for some reason, after I tried out the latest version, everything had an excessive plastic look even though I checked the option to reduce it. It did not do this before in the older version. Odd. I had to remove the glprogs folder because it looked fugly.

Yes, it looks like the specularity is on steroids. It looks cool on metal surfaces (which are supposed to be shiny), but not so on people, clothes, stone / soil etc. These ruins on mars were supposed to be buried for millions of years, yet they look like someone just polished them with armorall. I'm waiting for the 1.2 version before I try it again.
