Two Geforce 5200 cards in one system

I have 2 video cards, one dualhead Geforce 5200 AGP and one dualhead Geforce 5200 PCI. I can get them to work fine without one another, but when I have them both installed, Windows Xp loads up and system crashes. I'm wondering how I can get these two to work together.

Ummmm do you mean that you have 1 5200 AGP and 1 5200 PCI because I dident think they made 2 AGP ports?

Yes, I have one AGP card and one PCI video card. I don't know of any two AGP port systems either that is why I have what I have.

I can get my Matrox agp card to work together with Nvidia PCI video card, but I would like to replace my Matrox card with Nvidia also.

How can I do this?

Just install them both and the Nvidia Forceware drivers will do the rest. It'll work perfectly fine assuming you wanted it for a multiple monitor setup. But if your intention was an SLI setup then no that won't work.

If you have the same problem as I have, set your BIOS option to initialize PCI graphics instead of AGP graphics.

My five ASUS and two Shuttle nForce2 boards need to initialize PCI in BIOS when I have an AGP card and PCI card installed. If the BIOS is set to initialize AGP, then by the time the system gets through the Windows boot, my display screens have all turned dark. To cure this I have to reboot windows in F8 > VGA mode to reinstall video drivers.

If the BIOS is set to initialize PCI video, then I can set any card to be the primary display after Windows is running, and only one poorly-coded program has ever thought that the PCI was my best video card available.

It sounds like you crash harder than jsut a blank screen, but you may want to try the BIOS option anyway.

I modified BIOS back to PCI first and it still crashes. I've decided to use my Matrox AGP and Nvidia PCI. At least that works.
