Dates on main news page are 1 day off

Example:The stated day of the week is Wednesday and the date is the 22nd.
My calender says Tuesday is the 22nd, not Wed.

I've seen this error throughout the news dates. There must be a reason behind it but I cannot see it

At the top of the index page it states:

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

Which is correct. The only thing that might possibly throw someone off is Clay posted the Wednesday round up late yesterday evening 11/22 but we do that all the time though.
