a friend of mine switched cards from a 9800 pro to a 6800 ultra and he states that his box freezes up and runs like crap..
he also says that when he does the DX tests he is getting arties all over it.. I said to him that he probably still has some ATI drivers left over and that he should clean it out before sending the card back and test the card in a different box... 6800 ultra agp Xp3200 Asus NF2 board 1G ram whats your thoughts

Yea, a format is the best option, but if that is not an option, boot into safemode, and use drivercleaner to remove all the ATI entries.

I always do a fresh install when I put new hardware in so it does't have left overs of the other driver.because that 6800ultra will run circles around that 9800pro when he gets it set up right IMO.Plus he needs to make sure his power supply is giveing it enough juce on the 12v line.
