Did you use NVchooser.sh from the 1.0-4191 driver download page to determine which RPMs to download? Which NVIDIA_kernel RPM are you trying to install?

Unhappy nvcheck.sh

yeah.. i think im a retard ... i click on the nvchooser link and.... nottin. galeon says its loading the page but after 2 smokes its still loading...

i find the file nvcheck.sh in my home directory... i type ./nvcheck.sh i get permission denied... running root.. arg!

That's because even if you're root, the kernel won't let you execute programs that aren't executable...

Solution: sh NVchooser.sh

Oh, wait a minute -- you're saying it was named nvcheck.sh? That's ... entirely the wrong file. You need this one: ftp://download1.nvidia.com/XFree86_4...1/NVchooser.sh

Right-click the link, hit save as, and then run it like above. Or, install wget, open a terminal, and wget that URL above instead. Then run it.
