Default Nvidia GLX

Where can I get info on Nvidia GLX stuff. I think my problem (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=49798) might be solved by this since I have logs complaining that nvidia glx can't be found.

Thanks.

Hi,
when glx is not found, that most probably, because a) you made a mistake b)glx was installed, but the path is not looked up by X.

X dies without glx? So please look where the libGL stuff lies around and also look, if X is looking after them. A 'ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/startX' could be interessting.

Thanks for replying.

I did as you mentioned and here's what happened:
Code:
bash-3.00# ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/startx
        not a dynamic executable
so I tried this:
Code:
bash-3.00# ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/xinit
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x4002e000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x400f8000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40216000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
as for the libGL stuff... I don't know what to look for:
Code:
bash-3.00# ls /usr/lib/libGL*
/usr/lib/libGL.la  /usr/lib/libGL.so.1         /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1
/usr/lib/libGL.so  /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.7174  /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1.0.7174
Does that tell you anything?

I'm new to linux and have no clue as to what to do. All help really apprecated.

Thanks
