I've heard StarForce is one of those things that people are having some problems with.

BTW jAkUp, to bad they are taking forever to fill your order. That's what I would expect though, especially on a trade-in program like that. It's a higher priority for them to ship copies to people that pay the full price.

im very reluctant to upgrade to x64 because im afraid of compatability issues. although, im thinking about creating a dual boot x32/x64 setup just to cover all my bases, but i gave up the dual and triple boot setups a few months ago because i favored one boot option so much that it was annoying having so many drive partitions with redundant software installations.

in case your wondering i was dual booting for security purposes.

Doom3 and Doom3 ROE run fine. I installed them both last night. You have to download a hacked .MSI file to install ROE though but it works great. Same exact speed as under x32, far as I can tell.

Has anyone found Winamp for x64, or Firefox? I managed to get a hold of most of the drivers.
Doesnt 32bit winamp work?
I found a x64 Firefox when I was using RC2, but it wasnt "official" and frankly seemed like alot of hassle to install hehe, so I skipped it.. 32bit Firefox worked fine so I figured what the hell.. and 64bit IE cant run 32bit plugins, so that would prolly apply to FireFox aswell..

If your still intrested you can prolly find it over here:
http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showforum=3

Riptide you can "Fix" .MSI files yourself aswell, if you need to, that has restrictions on what OS they install on yourself using MaSaI Editor, the problem here is that the tool itself doesnt work in WinXP x64 hehe..
I installed it on my bros computer on the network and fixed my D3 and RoE MSI files, just removed the line that contained the OS check list..

EDIT
On a side note, most know that splinter cell Chaos theory wont work due to Starforce. (the demo worked for me tho)
I read a post on PlanetAMD64 (i think) from a guy that emailed starforce and UBI about it.
UBI said "the OS isnt listed on the box, thats why it doesnt work" basicly.
Starforce said "UBI used a older version of Starforce, they are working on a patch with a newer version that works in WinXP x64" (not in those exact words).

So there is prolly some light in the end of that tunnel, and possibly for all SF protected games, atleast newer ones..

EDIT
found the post, quoting for accuracy:

I have not heard back from Ubisoft, but Starforce tech support e-mailed me quickly. They said:

"Actually, StarForce supports 64 bit version of Windows. However, Splinter Cell was protected with older version. Currently UbiSoft is working on the patch that will solve the problem."

It looks like we will not be forced to pirate our store bought games after all.

jolle I also stayed away from firefox 64 for the same reasons. I would tend to assume the x32 version is more up to date and secure than the x64 version as well, though I hope that changes soon (or that I'm just plain wrong).

Yeah I saw those discussions on planetamd64 about editing the .MSI files. I'm to lazy though when I can just click download.

hehe, werent any downloads available when I did it.
Thought I would mention it tho if anyone would need to do it on some other game and cant find any prefixed MSI files for it.

That 64bit FireFox is prolly some recompile or some third party thing, didnt seem very "final", installation seemed to be alot of work.

Installation for firefox is not alot of work. You extract it, run it. There is no installer. I just made shorcuts to the .exe in my startmenu.
