Definetely, most of the issues I have are not necessarily on MS's part.... mainly on Starforce's part... Hehehe

Everything is working good here. I am able to run HL2 and all its mods + Guildwars w/o issue. The only problem I have right now is there is no packet writing software for my DVD burner... I use that burner to backup /archive my data.. oh well, I will have to wait till Nero makes an INCD version that works or... Roxio's Direct CD/DVD.

Hope that won't take long.

I love my new AMD rig!

I just installed the trial to replace my broken linux installation. The only problem is that the ATI drivers refused to install. It wouldn't even copy the files so I could install in manually. Thankfully, the NGO install copied the files to my hard drive so I could install the inf. Working fine now.

I can tell a small speed difference in installing apps (the only thing I've done so far). That may be becuase my 32bit install is pretty old and has tons of processes bogging it down. Gonna install some games and see how it goes. I'll report on any problems I encounter.

Amazing! I decided to load up 3DMark 05 for the hell of it and got 5500 stock! After overclocking the card (which I haven't tried after install the ATI Silencer) to 530/550 and hit 6036! I don't know if it was Windows x64 or the NGO drivers or what. I now hold the record for the highest X800XT/Athlon 64 2800+ combo! Did anyone else notice a difference on x64?

I did a fresh install of windows 32 a while back and got 4800 stock. It appears that framerate in every game has improved, Doom 3 is smooth as silk at 1600x1200 w/2xAA now. I dunno what caused it, but im not complaining. :P

Well it has shown is some website benchmark reviews, moving to x64 has very little improvement for frame rate. I have noticed that everything is smoother. (frame rate, windows response... ect.) The only other issue I have recently discovered is that I cannot seem to get my Iriver FP-180T MP3 player to make folders in it's internal 128mb flash... explorer just locks up.. I can copy and read... But I can't write. I got rid of that Iriver Manager... I flashed the player a while back to a firmware that makes it act like a USB mass storage device. I do not need drivers or that Iriver Manager. Worked great in 32bit XP just not in 64.

Winrar context menu now works with x64!!!

www.rarsoft.com

Quote:
1. WinRAR is able to integrate to Windows context menus also
on Windows x64 systems.

2. "Repair" command is able to reconstruct archive headers structure
in archives containing the high precision file time or encrypted
file data even if they do not have the recovery record.

Previously "Repair" worked for such archives only if they contained
the recovery record.

3. Bugs fixed:

a) in Windows XP and 200x after turning "Show Password" option on
and off the password dialog used a wrong symbol (asterisk instead
of big dot) to display entered characters;

b) RAR returned the zero exit code (success) after issuing
"You need to start extraction from a previous volume to
unpack the file" warning. It returns 1 (warning) code now.

Well got all my driver's in ATi Cat 5.5 and the wdm drivers for the theater Etc., Also my drivers for my HP desktop 722, I don't know where they came from but it detected it and was ok, thats what I was wondering if it would, I'm dual booting so got all my Win XP home on my 74 gig raptor and Win Xp Pro 64 bit on the WD 80 gig sata. Everything is loaded. Almost done getting the patches for the 64 bit game of FarCry. Running the Aplha i Firefox too works good. What about Avg free antivirus will it be ok if I install it? our do you need a 64 bit version?

You need an updated virus scanner. AVG doesn't work yet, I think most people are using AVAST.
