You have to buy the XBOX 360 with the hard drive option to be able to play your XBOX video games.

Well, from reading around here and there, turns out Halo 3 is "slated for a 2005 release". DOA 4 and Project Gotham 3 are going to be definite release dates.

EDIT (from Engadget.com)
Quote:
* European release one week after the US
* Japanese release in December
* It’ll be out in less than 6 months (i.e. before November)
* Halo 3 slated for 2005 release
* The two types of Xbox Live appear to be correct
* The X button is used for Xbox Live and displays your controller number
* [Translated] “You will be able to transfer stuff from an iPod.”
* USB-recharging of the controller batteries
* Release titles include: Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3, and Kameo

So they did move Kameo to the Xbox360. Interesting. I'm excited for Perfect Dark Zero more than anything though, I hope it'll be a good successor to the original.

The MTV special was pretty cool I guess. They didn't really say much about specs or anything like that. I thought that Madden 06, and the new Need for Speed looked AMAZING! I can't wait to get my grubby lil hands on this machine.

Hmm, it seems that those creatures shown in the Unreal Engine 3 demo weren't just for show: they're apperently from the upcoming Gears of War game for the Xbox 360: http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Sto...1902.42028.htm

Apparently the new xbox is water cooled:

If water cooling gets applied to embedded devices like this more often, then its likely we will see much cheaper and maintenance free PC water cooling solutions very soon.

I never thought anyone would do this

One tiny leak and the whole >300 system is ruined

Shipping, dropping, shaking, so many things could go wrong. Especially since the console is supposed to be so "portable"

Crazyness...
