Default I feel a panic coming on might have to go back to Microsoft!

Dear All
Please forgive me. I wrote an earlier message re Mandrake 9 and Nvidea g2 problems and received an answer which due to my ignorance I do not understand. I have only ever used and installed windows 95 98 ME and Xp and have never even become involved in DOS. So I am not conversant with typing commands in to change drivers. Can anybody point me in the direction of a good tutorial that would make things a little clearer on how to change drivers etc. Thanks I don't want to give up and revert to lesser things!
Thanks in hope John
