Default J Allard quotes - interview

Bold is him. Love what he says about the ps3 having alot of stuff, and how he sounds like nintendo now saying the graphics/tech isn't important but the games creativity. Which is very true, but can be looked at as sidestepping.

Oh and he says that gears of war is for the pc also, as i stated previously =p

Will you be cheaper than your competitors for launch?

I don't know what our price is going to be, and I don't know what their price is going to be. They got a lot of stuffed in, huh? Look at the back of that thing! Holy crap!

Will you have an exclusive game from Square Enix?

You're going to have to talk to Square on that one. My lips are sealed [squirms in chair]. We can only say what we said on Monday night; that's all we can say right now.

But you chose to show off a game that was released three years ago on the PC and we were expecting much more maybe...

Well, there was the other trailer he showed as well... He showed a second game as well. <- i believe they are refering to the FF7 trailer

That was just a tech demo though

It is.

It's not a game is it?

I'm not the one that's going to break the news for Square Enix; you're going to have to talk to those guys.

So this could mean that they'll redo FFVII? that would be really cool

NO, they have already confirmed with the Sony/Square guys that a FFVII redo is NOT in the making. Trust me, if it were in the making, I'm be pissing my pants right now. FFVII is the best RPG evar!

I thought FFVII sucked. Am I missing something? I had the PC version that came in the triangular EIDOS box.

FFVII was great (one of the top FF games) but far from the best RPG ever...

The PC version was bug-ridden and horrible but the Playstation version was great. But, like Magus says, it was hardly the best RPG ever. Many other RPGs are better for various reasons. In my opinion the best parts of FF7 were the graphics (at the time) and the Materia system - I didn't really like the characters or story as much as FF6 or Chrono Trigger (not to mention Skies of Arcadia).

Yeah I think FFVII had one of the best spell/skill systems of all the FF games, FFX comes close but I love the Materia System, so versitile.

Chrono Trigger is the best RPG though

PS: So good to be known as Magus now and not Egb...

If MS can get SquareEnix to put a remake of FFVII on the 360 its pretty much even game with Sony. No one in the industry would look down on them and they would probaly even edge Sony. I dont think there is another game so many would want to see remade or have a true sequal to. No chance of any of this happening though.

Honestly i'm not sure there is no chance. These are companies afterall, and if they feel that the money is overwhelmingly there. They will go there.

FFVII was the ONLY RPG to ever keep my interest for more than five minutes. Chrono Trigger was ok, I just like FFVII overall compared to CT. IMO, the storyline and materia system were really cool. I hope that they create a remake for the 360; it would sell pretty well I'd think.

Oh I won't deny it was more exciting than any other RPG at the time - but it was only the production values. From a storyline / character perspective, it is quite subpar.
