So use that then I don't see that as damaging as offering true m/k input for games.

Why doesn't MS and Sony just make a printer, scanner, fax machine, webcam, floppy drive etc for PS3 and Xbox 360? Oh yeah I forgot, they're GAMING CONSOLES NOT COMPUTERS.

And this is not a good thing. PC online gaming is less fair and controlled than console online gaming. People have faster PCs, different control devices, occasionally even cheats/bots/addons that can give them an unfair advantage. On consoles, all of that can be regulated for the most part (at least with XBOX Live), giving everyone the same opportunity to win using the same exact tools. That is the beauty of online console gaming on Live. It's all skill, period.

Ruined m+k for consoles is for people too retarded and uncoordinated to use a controller. The controller takes 5 minutes to adjust to. The dumbest sight in the world is some idiot sitting on his couch in front of his TV with a mouse and keyboard.

XBOX Live got pretty damn popular pretty fast. Remember, no console online play has delivered what I am talking about before XBOX Live, and still none does to date (in terms of regulating everything).

Right. That's the point though. It's been the first truly successful online console network, now with 2 million subscribers paying $60/yr for essentially a gateway/community/content delivery/linkup service. The idea of levelling the playing field, reducing cheating, centralizing all of your online games, having requirements like voice chat for all online games, etc, has raised the bar above PC standards for online gaming, which vary from game to game. On the PC, one game may support Voice chat, another only keyboard input, one may be infiltrated with cheatbots, one may allow for addons that makes it easier to win, one may have several input devices that make it easier to win, etc - and there is no coherent linking between them. I have been net gaming since the days of BBSes and DWANGO, and XBOX Live is the first console online service (tried Dreamcast, PS2) that I would say essentially beats PC online gaming overall due to its coherence, enforcement of standards, and feeling of community. It's quite cool having everything centralized in one place, and having such high standards placed on each online game.

XBOX360 looks to take this to the next level by requiring every offline game to have the option to log you on to XBOX Live when you start it. Which means that even if you are playing Kameo offline single player, you can still get invites from your friend in another game. Click on the invite, put in the disc for that game, and you are transferred directly to their game. That's awesome, and some offline XBOX games had this but not most of them. Apparently video chat in addition to audio chat will be a Live360 standard as well. In the end, Live seems to deliver a better overall online experience than the PC, and Live on X360 seems to raise the standards bar even higher for those who make online games. Really a great idea, and I can't wait for it to be even better on X360!

It's a game machine, they stated the PS2 was not a game machine either and that it would dethrone the PC and enable web browsing.

In addition, Sony is backpedaling since E3 after they saw Microsoft promoting the multimedia features of X360. Not until then did they start the ME TOO approach and talk about the wonderful things other than games PS3 will do such as "age" SD content into HD!!! LOL

Don't assume Sony's BS is true.
