Unhappy still 2 major Pivot bugs in 7664

After a few generations of RandR support I hoped the basic bugs would have been fixed, but they still remain.

These two major bug are:
- switching to pivot mode (4:3 or 5:4) still makes KDE think it is in (3:4 or 4:5) leaving the lower space blank and making its panel too wide. I restart of X solves the problem. Switching back always works
- Some applications like OpenOffice get the wrong scaling in pivot mode. The page is displayed streched, thus longer than it should be (on a 1024x1280 screen).

Please solve these to bugs. It would make the effort of implementing RandR finally worth it.

Thank You!

Greetings from germany

Do these problems reproduce with other window managers? Note that not all window managers support RandR correctly.

XRandR pivot works fine here (with KDE 3.4.1)...try both configuring from kcontrol, or just putting xrandr -o left right in .xsession/.xinitrc to see what works better.

one question, is it possible to just rotate one screen? do i have to enable xinerama for that? i guess since they both appear as one display to X, its too dumb to differentiate further..

really?
I read your comment and hopefully install KDE3.4.1(supplementary) on SUSE9.2.
but, I got the same result. KDE never knows nvidia's geometry reports.

I want to know any settings for screen rotation.

Sorry.
as KDE session starts with rotated screen, I get expected one.
but once I put command rotate, I can't get normal rotated screen again.

Isn't it the nvidia drivers bug reported below? >zander

I tried Window Maker instead KDE 3.4:
In Pivotmode it also doesn't have the correct screensize. Maximizing makes windows 4:3/5:4
The scaling is OK under Window Maker.

I don't have gnome, but I think at least gnome and kde should work.
And if the problem is not on nvidias side, they should inform kde/gnome or/and help them fix the problem.

The described problem also occurs in xfwm4 from the Xfce desktop environment.

Does anyone have a list of window managers which support the rotation by means of xrandr with the nvidia driver?

I just fixed this in Xorg CVS, so it should be fixed in the 6.9/7.0 release.
