Anyone here with a ATi Card (dont hurt me :-) who has the demo running with anistropic filtering and anti-aliasing?

i cant get it to work...

I just got some decent AA when i set AA in drivers to "let application decide" and 6x ingame options, but BF2 totally ignores the AF settings in drivers... :-(

AF is the texture filtering option.

I had a bunch of problems myself, but for the most part the game is rock solid once you get it going. Its a shame youre going to skip this one though, the game is freaking amazing.

I also thought my rig was 100% stable before i tried the BF2 demo. I had all kinds of stability problems with BF2 and i couldn't figure out why the hell the demo kept crashing. (The games you mentioned worked just fine) I tried all drivers and settings i possible could.
This game is pushing the hardware harder than anything seen by man! It's especially tough on your RAM. I fixed my problems by upping the mem voltage by 0.10 V. Since then i've played 5 hour sessions without a hickup.

Worth a try maybe.

You can't just play it off that it's just the demo. Yes there are problems with almost every demo but just saying it's the demo is the easy way out.

Do you have a nvidia card? If so did you delte the drivers before you installed the drivers that came with the game? There are all sorts of things that can be the problem.

I just found some more bugs

Some times team mate names show in red. You know what that gets you? Team kills, or deaths because they see your name as red too so you end up fighting team mates constantly. This is obviously a bug, and better be fixed in the full version.

Also, the C4 charges. They are... "automatic"? You hold the button and they fly out. Problem is, the drop C4 button automatically switches to the DETONATE C4 button when you run out of C4. So if you have one charge left and you accidently hold the button for more than a millisecond, you blow up. This is a HUGE problem and could easily be remedied. Make it so you have to click to drop every charge, and make alt fire the only way to detonate (even when you have no more C4) to prevent mistakes from happening.

Hopefully the first patch addresses these and the problems with the server browser... as well as the vehicle team damage BS. Still, these bugs arent big enough to ruin the game at all, its just extremely irritating to have them ruin my score when im doing well.

Hi demonized

I set the BF2 1024 x 768 @ 100mhz + all high details + 4XFSAA +
audio EAX ON

using 77.30 driver (come with BF2 demo)
for Nivida control panel : Vsync On + all AA , FSAA at application controlled
aperture size set to 256mb at BIOS

if you want to make this BF2 run smooth + better eyes candy you should upgrade to the upcoming GFX card from ATi or Nvidia + add more RAM
