Last pic kind of shows a shadow problem I'm having with the 77.13s. A large black square follows a lot of the people and vehicles. I don't think that's normal although since I've never really played the B1942 games much I'm not sure.

Edit: Yeah, the loading time is really annoying.

77.13 gave me errors/glitches in BF2.

Same here, I get a large black square that seems to follow people and vehicles although it'll sometimes disappear. At times it's like the shadows are drawing way too slowly. I guess I'll try the 77.30s at some point but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep BF2 installed or not. Not being able to use 1280x1024, really long load times and not working with my current favorite drivers (77.13s) are almost enough to make me remove it.

I'm crashing to the desktop, don't even get to the splash screen, just black then out. I tried changing the refresh rate with no luck, tried the packaged drivers, no luck. Tried both SLI and non. Running 2XBFG 6800GT's. Tried at stock clock speeds. Any ideas, driving me crazy. Thank.

It's alright guys, it's not like they had time to fix the bugs or anything.

If they couldn't get it right for the demo there isn't much of a chance they'll get it right before the release date. Hell, it's already gold, right?

You said you changed the refresh rate but are you forcing it? If so, you may want to stop doing that to see if that helps. I seem to remember the first one giving me issues if I tried forcing the refresh rate (although I've seen others say they're doing that with BF2 and it's working).

If nothing works, maybe you should try downloading it again. Maybe you have a corrupt download (especially since it's crashing on you so early in the process).

Hi you do need the 77.30 drivers to play battlefield 2 correctly.
The problem with artifacts is probably your system ram and not your video card at all. Battlefield 2 will make your system ram get very hot and yes that will cause video artifacts sometimes. I just had this same problem and it took me awhile to find it. No one seems to know that system ram can cause video artifacts, so I had to find the problem myself. Try underclocking your system ram or putting a fan on them. I will bet that is your whole problem.

It wasn't artifacting, just black tectures/squares on the ground where shadows should be. Simple rendering issue fixed with the 77.30's.

Well, at least noone's complained about stuttering yet

BTW, can someone with over a gig of ram test this game and see what it says your memory peaked at? In one interview one of the developers said that "power users" would want 2 gigs to run the game at it's smoothest
