Would really appreciate some help on this one ... been struggling for hours and hours
![]() I just bought an FX5500 this afternoon and have been struggling to get in running with the NVIDIA module. I followed the directions on the post for the FX5200 and had no success. The error message in my Xorg.0.log notes: "Failed to initilize the NVIDIA kernel module. Please ensure that there is a supported NVIDIA GPU in this system and NVIDIA device files have been created properly. **ABORTING**". Also when I try to run the update_drv command the response is: "("pci10de,326") already in use as a driver or alias." Where can I go from here? |

I found the problem. When I update_drv command, you need this: #update_drv -a -i '"pcixxxx, xxx"' nvidia If you typed it in without the nvidia as per the original thread, you first need to do an #update_drv -d -i etc etc etc. |
