Default Re: My Dual 7800 GTX's

Some interesting info at Nvidias 7800GTX FAQ.

Q: Will you use HSI to make AGP-based GeForce 7800 boards?
We are not disclosing plans for AGP at this time, but that is certainly possible with the flexibility of our HSI chip.

Q: Is there a GeForce 7800 Ultra?
GeForce 7800 GTX is our top of the line. We had so much positive response for the GT SKU (single slot, great performance) that we wanted to build upon that success and brand. GeForce 7800 GTX takes NVIDIA's high end performance offering to the next level.

Q: With the introduction of the GeForce 7800 GTX, does this mean you are discontinuing the GeForce 6 series?
No. The GeForce 7800 GTX will be NVIDIA's new flagship GPU, replacing the GeForce 6800 Ultra at the top of our product line. The other GeForce 6 Series GPUs including the GeForce 6800 GT and Standard, will remain in their respective segments.

I can use 16xAA on my single 6800 ultra. Can anyone confirm it's a new version of 16xAA?

you can see a comparison of Transparency AA in the nvnews review.

I was going of what I had read in the 3DGuru 7800 review found HERE

NVIDIA offers a wide variety of AA modes, All AA modes are supported up-to the lovely 8x Super Sampled. Now the real fun begins when you are filthy rich and have 7800 GTX setup in SLI. You'll be able to play games with 16 levels of AA!! At the time of writing this has not been finished yet but during the first weeks of the product release a new driver should become available that will allow you to handle 16x AA (if you have SLI). The way this is gonna work is a mix of 4x Multi (rotated grid) and Super sampling modes.

If Guru3d is accurate, the 16xAA mode is the 4xMS + 2x2SS mode that is already available through rivatuner on current 6800 cards. The only difference being that it's going to be officially supported.

unless its 4xMSAA and TSAA combined.. TSAA seems alot faster then their traditional 2x2 OGSS used in the old 16xS mode.
Im hearing around the forum that it is a new 16x mode, and Guru3d only sais "a mix of 4x Multi (rotated grid) and Super sampling modes" which could be the old mode, or something new.. a bit nondescript..

Come on people,if you gonna give 600$ for a 7800GTX I'm sure you can spare 80$ for a pci-express mobo!
