Default 7800GTX clock speed mystery solved

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2005/07...0_clock_speed/

I found this to be an interesting read. I really like the dynamic clock in the 7800 that nVidia is useing to keep temps and power down. It seems the 7800 really is based on a totally new architecture.

Hi

dito, thanks!

The 7800GTX really is a great card.

I went ATI (x850XT PE) after i was a bit dissapointed with SLI (2x6800 Ultra Golden Sample). SLI was too "buggy" imho, but damn fast.

And now i have 1 card, which is really fast (like 6800U SLi) , is cool and quiet and works without a flaw! No need for profiles and stuff...

I am very satisfied!

Sven

Hm good read, dose make sence, I do belive that Pentium 4's have some part that runs at 'duble' the clock speed or something. Good read, also expalnes why 3dmark05 reports my gpu as 500mhz

I've not read this yet but did search and noticed that Unwinder isn't mentioned. Has he provided any thoughts about this article?

I wonder what the 90nm G70 derivative on the PS3 has under the hood.

I guess he wants nVIDIA to reveal the details of thier proprietary technology so the competitors can take advantage of it
