ibm T221 @ 48hz with quadro 4000 and 76.67 driver : a solution

The hi-res monitor ibm t221 (3840x2400) can be driven by a quadro 3000 or 4000 at a frame rate of 48hz according to ibm documentation. Ibm gives in their web site an xorg.conf file which was working with drivers priors to 76.64. With new drivers modelines had to be modified.

So, in order to work you should:

Connect the dvi port which is connector (agp ou pci-e) side on the ibm converter box, and the output of the converter box should be plugged on the A connector on the T221.
Connect the other dvi port to the standard (EC: H30888) Y cable, with only 1 male dvi plugged, the other one stay in the air (not very clean, but …), on the B connector of the T221
Choose on the ibm T221 edid mode 6
Install latest (76.67) driver
Use the xorg.conf which is attached.
