RH Linux9 appears to be corrupt

My RH Linux9 appears not to be able to MAKE compilations. I do not know how to fix this. Accordingly I cannot install the NVIDIA video driver and cannot boot to X windows. Any clues on how to fix this??

Did you do a full RHEL install or a default install? The minimal defaults don't include a compiler.
