Default UT2004 with triple LCD setup: 3 times bigger display but only 1/3 visible

Hi!

I'm having a triple head xinerama setup (two LCDs attached to
one 7800GTX in twinview mode and another LCD on the second 7800GTX).

The situation is that although i have a 3840x1024 display,
i actually can only see "one third" of what i can see on a single
1280x1024 display (however, 3x zommed). I have attached a combined
screenshot for better understanding: the big window shows what
you can see in a 1280x1024 setup and the smaller window inside the
big window shows what you can see at 3840x1024 (but thrinked to
1280x341). I have experienced that this extreme zoom effect has
pros and cons: aiming at far targets is now way simpler (somebody
might call that cheating), but you can easily get lost at close
combat.

Does there exist some options in UT2004.ini or User.ini where i
can change that beviour? I mean: in the middle LCD, i would like
to see what is in the "big" screenshot and the scenario should
continue on the other two LCDs.

regards

Bernhard

Very nice ! Can we call it as "wide horizon"?
In a 3D game this effect it could be obtained changing some VARIABLES...
In Quake game this variable is named "fov" = Field Of View
and its default value is 90 (mesured in degrees?)
You can try to change it or similar variables?

You can change FOV in the ~/.ut2004/System/UT2004.ini

Thanks for the feedback!

I played with the FOV settings: at "fov 160", i get about the same scenario
on the middle LCD as what i got at fov 120 on a single LCD: in the
attached screenshot, the wide window shows the scenario with three LCDs
at fov 160 and the smaller window inside the wide window shows the scenario
with one LCD at fov 120.

So far, so good, but there are several issues:

* some weapons are not visible on the display, which is sometimes iritating
* the scenario is pretty distored on the left and right LCD
* a lot of public servers only allow FOVs between 80 and 120

Regarding distortion, fov 140 seems to be a good compromise, but
still lots of servers won't allow that.

From what i know, 7 series and 5 series card won't work together
for 3D across three screens.

Please find attached a sample xorg.conf files that used to work for me for
a while. but because of constant issues with xinerama, i switched to a
single card triple head setup:
