My integrated soundcard does not work en mandriva linux 2006 bêta 2. For memory, it has never work even in 10.1.
I have an abit nf7 with chipset nforce 2.
The kernel is 18.104.22.168mdk.
I've downloaded and installed nvidia driver according instructions here : http://www.nvidia.fr/object/linux_nf...0-0301_fr.html.
The sound card does not work at all.
When I start the sound module in the control center it failed loading.
Do you have any ideas ?
Thanx for your help.

Re: Nvidia audio on mandriva
I have been using nforce2 audio on mandriva since Mandrake 10.0.
This module cannot be configured in the MDK control center (alias drakconf).
Be sure you configure your /etc/modprobe file removing the ALSA lines (alias snd-XXXXXX), and just have the nvidia line (nvsound).
Also, be sure you don't start ALSA on boot. As root run:
chkconfig --level 2345 alsa off
Once you configure it, reboot and you should have sound.
Run nvmixer to set the audio properties: speakers, volumes, etc.
