S-Video output problems w/ 7174 driver
I currently have a FX 5500 128mb chipset. I installed it into a PIII 800mhz machine with an AGP 4x slot. The card itself is backwards compatible with older AGP 2.0 motherboards, I know this because my Xorg.0.log states that it detected the 4x board and reverted to that mode.
The problem I'm having is with the TV-out. I run my S-video cable into my television and the screen flickers and stays blue (as if there's barely any signal).. and you can barely see the x-server. My xorg.conf is all correct, I know this because I had this card in another machine with the same exact config file and it worked like a charm.
My question is, are these cards actually 4x compatible? The regular LCD monitor I use works fine in monitor mode, but the TV-out is where I'm having problems. Just curious if anyone can shed some light on this subject for me. I'm about ready to go and buy a 4x compatible card with a S-video output, since all I really need the card for is TV-Output.
I haven't tried upgrading the driver, the newer drivers didn't change any pertaining to my chipset. Should I try this first?
