I can't find anything on this site about SLI support in linux.
I want to move my A8N-SLI Deluxe + 2x 6600GT system to SuSE 9.3. I'm just waiting on SLI support to complete the move to linux. Is it coming or is nVidia not going to bother? |

Currently there's no SLI support, not sure when it will arrive.

Linux NVIDIA display drivers will NOT support Scalable Link Interface until the release of the 1.0-8XXX drivers.

BTW.: not realy a serious questions, but interessted in feedback nevertheless: will SLI also work for a triple LCD setup? I mean, at the moment, the first card takes care about two LCDs in twinview mode and the second card handles the third LCD. Technically, i can imagine that it would be possible that the first card renders the content of the first LCD and half of the content for the second LCD. Then the second card renders the other half of the the second LCD and shuffles the data through SLI to the first card. Finally the second card renders the content of the third LCD. This way, you would get roughly a 30% improovement (i.e. 20 ms for the first card + 10 ms for the second card per frame vs. 15 ms / 15 ms). regards Bernhard |
