Hello.
I have Inno3D GeForce 6600 video card with 256M RAM AGP. Card works fine with 6629 drivers and kernel 2.6.11-cko1. When i try use 7676 drivers version, i got black screen on XFree86 4.3.0 starts. My monitor going to standby mode and kayboard stops working. I try use 2.6.13 kernel - same thing.

In all, log file stops at:

madmanZ,
Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.

Also, which motherboard are you using, and which BIOS version is on that motherboard?

Thanks,
Lonni

Motherboard ASUS P4P800.

Bios:
Vendor: "American Megatrends Inc."
Version: "1019.005"
Date: "10/14/2004"

I cant run nvidia-bug-report.sh when my machine dont respond. Driver installs without any error. Just when i try run XFree86 - i got black screen and my monitor going to standby mode. After reboot, in xfree log file i see (last 10 lines of log file):
root@bormoglot:~# tail -10 /var/log/XFree86.0.log.old

madmanZ,
Where did you obtain the 1019.005 SBIOS? Asus's website lists 1017 as the latest stable SBIOS:
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...odel=P4P800-VM

Does this problem persist if you remove the "RenderAccel" X option?

Also, please generate and post a bug report against 1.0-7676 while this problem is present.

Thanks,
Lonni

I have http://support.asus.com/download/dow...l&model=P4P800, not P4P800-VM. For this mother board last satble version 1019 (http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...0/P4P81019.zip)

Wait a while, i try run without RenderAccel.

Looking at your bug report, I see:
/proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Disabled

Is there a reason why you're using the int10 X module? If not, can you try disabling it?

Also, can you please try upgrading to the 1019 SBIOS?

Thanks,
Lonni

Just remove the int10 entry in your X configuration, and that will disable it. Have you checked in your SBIOS to make sure that any AGP options are setup properly?

thanks,
Lonni

I remove int10 module and try install 7676 driver again. Same trouble. Monitor -> standby, kayboard - not respond.

In attach nvidia-bug-report.txt after reboot.

Also i not understand what you mean about SBIOS and AGP options. In System BIOS i have only two options:

1. What video must bi initialized first (AGP/PCI or PCI/AGP) - i set to AGP/PCI
2. AGP aperture size. I set to 256.

Under 1.0-6629 drivers all works fine...

(i need reinstall drivers before run X and firefox for made reply)

madmanZ,
The WAIT entries in your X log suggest that there is something that the driver is waiting for before the X server can finish spawning.

Are you using a Debian kernel, or a kernel from another source?

Thanks,
Lonni

Current kernel, 2.6.11-cko1 - it`s pure kernel with Con Kolivas patch.

I trying to use vanilla 2.6.13 - but without luck.

What more info i can get to solve this trouble ?
