It's 2.4ghz for the 4800. Not sure for the 4400.

I'm not totally sure on the single versus dual. I did have a 4000+ (single core) in my 2nd system for a while running at 2.4ghz as well. The 4800+ in that system made a noticeable difference but it was mainly in windows. The system is much snappier and responsive. In actual games, there is sometimes an increase in performance but it's usually around 10fps or less (so I'm not sure I'd notice without running fraps to see the actual framerates).

3800+ = 2.0Ghz with 2x512K cache
4200+ = 2.2Ghz with 2x512K cache
4400+ = 2.2Ghz with 2x1Mb cache
4800+ = 2.4Ghz with 2x512K cache
4800+ = 2.4Ghz with 2x1Mb cache
FX-60 = 2.6Ghz with 2x1Mb cache

And Im pretty sure that overall, if a game isnt multithreaded, a dual core vs a single core will be pretty much the same at similar clocks unless you run programs in the background. Generally though, if you have a dual core that can only hit 2.3Ghz on an overclock because of heat issues and you have a single core that can hit 2.5 or 2.6, the single core will be better for non-multithreaded games and apps (again, unless you do a lot of multitasking).
If my CPU wasnt such a damn good overclocker I would have plunked down on a dual core already. I dont really do anything or play any games thatd really benefit from another core, especially if I end up getting a weak overclocker... then Id probably lose performance. Oblivion is supposedly multithreaded but it doesnt seem to run any better on my brother's 4200+ overclocked to 2.5Ghz.

I think both .. running single vs dual channel made a notable difference aswell as o/cing the CPU.
nice score btw!!

It's corsair 6400C4 that is rated at 2t. I suppose it may do 1t at 800mhz but i have it up to 1000mhz.
