Default Ninja Gaiden sucked pretty bad

If so much emphasis is placed on blocking, why does it do no good when bad guys learn to throw?

Why does there have to be "save points"? This is absurd.

Why do you have to play the same level halfway over again because there was no save point? Why is the level design so poor?

The only good thing about this game is the ninja master's tournament, maybe they should have stuck to making this a fighter.

I don't know what crack the press was on when they gave it such glowing reviews, but I give it a "meh, I'm taking it back to the rental shop to find something else less boring".

How far did you make it through the game?

LOL yeah he was, pretty disappointing.

Anyway yeah for the most part I agree with you. It was more tedious than anything getting through the game, although it did have its moments. It was totally overrated though.

Change your name. You're not oldskool enough to keep it.

Ninja Gaiden is one of the best games on Xbox... so you lose.

I prefer save points... games where I can save anywhere always last me about two seconds because I just quicksave like crazy and if I mess up I just start off a minute before I died/messed up... with save points I have to play through part of the level again.

I agree, that's one of the things that annoyed me the most about Doom 3. I really like checkpoint autosaves in FPSs because it forces you to think more carefully about how you approach your objectives. Of course, Doom 3 didn't have any of those either, so I guess that point is moot.

I thought it was cool.. so damn lame though how you exit a screen and run directly back and everyone has respawned.

"save points" are lame because they seem like a hold-on to a concept that was put in place because of technical limitations. It's most definitely NOT one of the best games for the xbox either, if you like moribund repetitive gameplay then perhaps it is.

I like my "save when I want to" games, because that helps me out in not having to replay the same half of a level 3x.

For the record I think Ninja Gaiden is one of the most fun games to come out in a long while.

Its good to know I'm not alone either seeing as how the majority of the world agrees with me.
