Default Overscan Lost on Resolution Change

I've posted about this before, but why are overscan settings lost when X changes resolution? I never got an answer. Is it something the X team needs to fix, or Nvidia?

It's rather annoying, and I can't imagine it taking literally more than 5 minutes to fix if the means are available. The problem is likely in a blatantly obvious place, unlike problems regarding stability some people have. So, why does it do that? Can any Nvidia employees pass the message along?

any comments from moderator?
this is a really an annoying bug in the drivers > 4xxx.
And using the old 4xxx drivers is not possible with 2.6 kernels.

Perhaps the issue will be fixed in the next release. Note that you can allways restore the overscan by playing with nvidia-settings or nvclock. (can be done from a script too if you want as both apps can change overscan using the commandline too)
