My System:

Infiniband network card
Nvidia driver version 7676

Any help is highly appreciated.

What kind of a system/motherboard are you using?

Is X hanging immediately upon starting, or at some later time?

Please generate and post a bug report either during, or immediately after you experience this problem.

Thanks,
Lonni

It happens after different times! (few seconds - half hour)

Sometimes:
-> I can open only one window before it hang up.
-> ssh connection no longer possible.
-> root cannot kill the x-server.

Mainboard:

Tyan Thunder K8WE with 6,5 Gbyte ram

PCI-E cards:

Quadro FX4400
Infiniband MT25208

LINUX:

Linux version 2.6.9-11.ELsmp (bhcompile@crowe.devel.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.4.3 20050227 (Red Hat 3.4.3-22)) #1 SMP Fri May 20 18:25:30 EDT 2005

xorg-x11-6.8.2-1.EL.13.13

I have the same problem with a other nvidesa card.

/proc/driver/nividea/card/0:
Model: Quadro PCI-E Series
IRQ: 217
Video BIOS: 04.34.20.79.08
Card Type: PCI-E

It happens after longer times!

The Attachment show the x-server log file.

These are the only information which I get can. Me it was not possible a situation to find in that the x-server always hangs up.

Please post an nvidia-bug-report.log while this problem is present. Also, does this problem reproduce with a more recent kernel (such as 2.6.13.1)?

Thanks,
Lonni

Judging from this log excerpt, you're not using 1.0-7676, but a more recent pre-release driver. Please see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...39&postcount=2 for a patch against 1.0-7676 that resolves this problem. Please also see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=56150 for additional updates that improve stability on Linux/x86-64.
