Black screen after installing 7676 or 7174 - Fedora Core 3 GeForce4 MX440

I modded my xorg.conf file, did setenforce 0 before installing, and both packages just give me a black screen when trying to start X. I uninstalled and put back my original xorg.conf file, and it works again.

Its a Sempron 2500+, ECS 760GX-M mobo, Apollo GeForce4 440MX, Fedora Core 3.

Any help?

I would, the problem is that after I run startx, it even takes down my network connection apparently, so I can't ssh in to run a problem report generator..

In your X log I see that you're still running the original FC3 kernel (2.6.9-1.667). Have you updated the BIOS or OS on your system?

Please generate and post a bug report against 1.0-7676.
