Please give more details about your system and run the 'nvidia-bug-report.sh' script which can be found in /usr/bin.

First why are you using such old nvidia drivers? You are using 1.0-6629 while the latest is 1.0-7676

Im having the exact same problem. I'm new to linux so I won't be much help. However I have an idea of what has caused the error on my system. Have you recently updated any packages? I ran yum update yesterday and the only thing it updated was something like xlib or xsomething similar. I hadn't rebooted until the morning and now I have that same error. I have the latest nvidia drivers so I know that's not the reason.

Yes it is, it's just masked. Unmask the ebuild (check docs on gentoo.org if you don't know how to) and emerge it.
