That wasn't a stupid comment. He talked about the gameplay aspect, and his pretty right. F.E.A.R's MP is nothing without it's graphics.

Well I didn't get a chance to play the game itself since I had to go to work, but MAN did they improve performance! Or maybe they just got SLI working properly. Anyway, here are my results:

2xAA 8xAF 1280x960 All Video Settings on Maximum, Soft Shadows Off (turning them on makes no difference)

In order for soft shadows to work you have to turn off AA. To be honost, I leave SS off because it KILLS performance.

AHhhhhh that makes sense now. Yeah I'll keep it off, if Chronicles of Riddick is any indication, it's not a very good idea.

One thing that kind of annoyed me about the benchmark is that there are no shader-heavy scenes in it so you don't really get a chance to see the true potential low-end of your framerates when actually playing the game. My FPS dropped to 20 plenty of times in a multiplayer map I started up when there were a lot of windows with glass distortion effects on them. Just something to think about.

Yup, you know that one room with the glass windows? A bunch of them? Also there is a reflective water on the ground. Anyways, I hate going in there because my FPS like gets cut in half!

I've been bitten by the same high pings as BF2 and SWAT4 thanks to my school's network. It looks like LAN only for me.
