Quake 4 > Fear.

Why you ask? Because it doesn't rape my system.

Is fear really any good? I haven't tried it yet personally. I have looked at the screenshots and it gives me the feel that the game is just another "wannabe the matrix" style environment. If it is: been there, done that, and don't care.

nerf fanboys

Edit: To add my personal light to this, I will be getting both games, the same day, and I will play both until I beat them. And I'm gonna love every minute of it while you guys are still arguing about whats better. That is all.

Anybody get to the bottom of this? Just seems as though some random idiot created a story to stir up trouble. Personally I wouldn't be surprised at the score but I still don't think it would score that low.

As for what fear brings new to the table, I don't think it brings much new to the table. The horror theme was done in undying, AI didn't seem overly intelligent, slow mo has been in a number of games, the particle effects are probably a little bit unique in some respects. It's probably more the combination of these things that create a new feeling. I will say it seems far more unique than Quake 4, but you guys knew that.

slow mo is nothing special, been around for awhile. Im not sure if it was Max Payne or Jedi Knight that brought it to the table first. I know all the recent Jedi games have it, disguised as force speed. Max Payne "coined" the term "Bullet Time" (not matrix). You can also see slow mo used in Painkiller when you get alot of kills quickly.

Sounds made up to me. They are releasing a demo so anyone can try that to see if they like it.
