I'm getting Quake 4 regardless of how good or bad it is. I know I'll have fun playing it for a few months. I only get about 4 hours of gaming a week because of my college classes and personal life, so it takes me a good few months to finish a game.

I wonder what will be better, Quake 4 or the Doom movie.

Seems like a lot of people don't think the movie will be any good but I'm really looking forward to it. It looks great in the previews and someone told me recently, that it's rated R so there should be lots of gore. I thought they might try to make it PG-13 and figured they'd have to cut a lot of the gore out. Anyway, I'm excited about it.

I do not care what rating it gets honestly as long as the netcode is good and there are interesting people to frag.
I will be grabbing both.

Quake 4 could get a 20% and it'd still be better than the Doom movie.

Well, if Quake 4 is anything like Doom 3, then I will be waiting utill it goes below $30. Dont want to feel like I spent to much like I did with Doom 3, Doom 3 was not worth the $55, should have been like $30.

I to dont pay attention to proffessional reviews anymore, ever since PC Gamer gave Doom 3 that high score. I now wait for player reviews and read enough of them until I feel like I got enough information as to wheher it is worth buying or not.

quite true, honestly i want to play it and compare it to doom3, they gave it such a high score and it lacked a playable multiplayer, i want to see how doom3 is better than quake4 heh.

I agree. Honestly, I spent $500 on my graphics card, a card that is still the single fastest (and most expensive) card you can buy today, and will probably still be the fastest card available when FEAR hits the shelves. If I want to play the game at my LCD's native 1280 with 4xAA/8xAF, am I asking too much?

From the benchmarks, it seems you need SLI'ed GTX's to run the damn thing. I can understand the need for SLI if some hardcore gamer wants to game at 2048 resolution with 8xS. But at 1280? It's not fair.
