Default Catholic Church no longer swears Bible to be all true

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...811332,00.html

To anyone that knows me from Hardforum, knows that I don't believe the Bible is anywhere near 100% true. There is alot of corruption and alot of "government" in the Bible that I don't believe was intended to be there. Anyway its nice to see someone else has somewhat the same views as I do. Normally when I tell people I am religious but don't believe the Bible is accurate... it kind of throws them off. Whats everyones thoughts on this topic?

My response to this article is who is to say what is real and what is fake?

They say it's not true to approve of the lifestyles they want to lead. Not the majority, but a small fraction of them. This is sad that it had to make the headlines like this.

By the way, they will find out how tru it is when they meet the Main Author of the Bible.

Too true... People too often twist the words of the Bible to try to fit what they want to do.

First off the Chatholic church does not say this. Only a few bishops in England are saying this. Secondly the conflicting two accouts in Genisis do not conflict. We have been over this. It is only a casual look at the bible by those with sole intentions to discredit the bible based on twisted view of the scriputures that claim this.

The so-called Jewish curse is a myth dreampt up by church leaders and used for politcal control over the people. It isn't there. It is a false reading of the scripture. It was the response from those people at that time to Pilot's act of washing his hands of the situation. There isn't any Jewish curse. We are all equally guilty of Jesus' death. It is our sin that he died for.

I get tired people's bubble gum look at the bible and think they found a flaw. Yet when you show them the evidence they still deny it and in fact they get upset or say that is your point of view. Well 2000 years of teaching tells us what the truth is.

This is a factually false statement. You can agree or disagree wither there is a God or not but the events in the bible have been proven through acheology.

I totally agree. You got people all over the world trying to prove that it's not true, when in turn they are proving the opposite--that it is emphatically true.

There are teaching in the Catholic church that are not in the bible such as meat on Fridays, the rosery and the Marianism. They are extra teachings the Catholic church uses. The rosery and the Marianism are actualy forbidin in the bible and the fish on Friday was a respons to the poor fishing economy at that time and used to help the fishermen out. It has no biblical basis. It is called theological legalism.

UDawg, Mr. Hunt:
We can argue this point until we are blue in the face, but people that want to live their lifestyle will still have their excuses. Romans 1:28 says:

I know that this quote has probably ticked some people off here, but it's too true. In fact, I know that my sig has made people email me and ask me to delete it, but I'm not...because it's the truth.

I've decided that I will not debate in this thread, because this is a circular argument.
