gerick, you're right! google cached the asus support site!

(And the links are still working... (but asus servers are quite a bit slow... only 10kbits/s ... I've a 6mbits/s connection...))

Code:
NVRM: loading NVIDIA Linux x86_64 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-8168 Thu Oct 20 10:49:01 PDT 2005
NVRM: Xid: 6, PE0002 0184 beef0201 00000054 997f24c0 01a1010b
NVRM: Xid: 27,  L1 -> L0
NVRM: Xid: 6, PE0002 0424 ff000000 0000fd7c c0b9df8f 00001000
NVRM: Xid: 27,  L1 -> L0
great, or? well, I think it's really about time to fix these bugs, I'll bin this piece of 180 Euro crap!
Unfortunatly, the Open Graphics Project is not ready yet...

Thanks,

I didn't notice the date in the readme was 2004 instead of 2005. I guess they are old driver.

I was just wondering why the readme shows "Version: 1.0-8168" if it is supposed to be "1.0-6111"?

And the file within the zip is "NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1[1].0.8168-pkg2.run" dated 21-OCT-05.

I'm kinda new to this, but I was wanting to run Linux on my board when it arrives. Hope the drivers are available by the time the board arrives. Maybe others will have worked out the kinks for me before I get to tackle it.

Hmm, the readme seems to be a _little bit_ obsolete ...
anyway, the _real_ readme gets installed by driver.

Indeed, from a quick look at the files contained in that archive it appears to be a real 1.0-8xxx driver. That is, unless someone went to a lot of trouble to make up a lot of stuff about SLI and something called GenLock...

Oh boy, I'm getting a little confused here. Is there anyone out there who had the chance to install and test this driver? *Please* tell us about it...

I have installed it on my Biostar M7 board with the Geforce 6100 IGP..
No luck though. The 6100 series dont seem to be supported with this (leaked) beta.

Hopefully NV will release support for the 6100 card soon. Ive had enough of the Vesa driver.

Well, SLI appears to work with this driver. Havn't performance tested it though.

I tried it on an asus a8n-vm csm (6150/430 chipset), and the video drivers worked happily. glxgears reported 1800fps. I haven't had a chance to try the dual-head functionality yet--but these new/old/leaked/whatever drivers seem to work on this new chipset at any rate.
