Default Re: How to play 1280*960 resolution game while using a 17''LCD?

I can confirm the DVI requirement for that option, just hooked a DVI monitor up yesterday. It was meant to be a replacement for my 915n - a 4ms Samsung panel from Best Buy. There was HORRIBLE image trailing. It wasn't ghosting - I've never seen anything like it. Basically, it appeared as if when there was motion in a game or movie, there was an after-image similar to ghosting that was the opposite color of the pixels that were there a split second before - i.e., a black wall against a blue background would leave white trails. Again it looked nothing like ghosting. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

It was the Samsung 960BF. DO NOT get this screen, it is horrible.

Yes, but unfortunately many games, even new ones like FEAR, Serious Sam 2, and Battlefield 2, do not natively support 1280x1024 for some reason.

Yep, you need DVI for those options to appear. I have two 172x monitors hooked up, usually through both DVI connections on my 6800GT. Asi I don't have my 6800GT and I'm using a 5500FX I'm using one on the DVI and one on the VGA. Only the DVI connected monitor has the fixed ratio settings.

Also, I hope thats not pr0n in the background of your screenie Agentkay

lol Good eye, actually it was! I´m single so its okay.

@Ninjaman09, sorry to hear about your misfortune and its pretty crazy because I never have seen anything like that either. I wonder if it was just on that one screen you got or appears on all Samsung models of that screen. Samsung was known for quality (at least over here) but I guess every manuf. produces a lemon sooner or later. Hopefully you have more luck next time!
